About ADPI

A bit about us

On September 24, 1981, the Delphian Society became one of the three original women’s social clubs at Furman University. Two women laid the foundations for the society, with many of the symbols and ideals bearing strong resemblance to those of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Eighteen Delphian charter members established the society based on the qualities of scholarship, leadership, service, character and sisterhood.

On March 19, 1994, the Delphian Society became the Eta Phi chapter of Alpha Delta Pi. The sisters made a smooth transition into Alpha Delta Pi by continuing to uphold the Delphian foundations of leadership, loyalty, friendship and Christian ideals. Eta Phi has grown over the past twenty years to include over 100 active members, making us one of the largest sororities on campus. Our sisters participate in a wide range of campus activities such as a variety of campus clubs, various religious organizations, and numerous academic societies.
